As I’m sure you know my father is a disabled veteran with many physical disabilities My parents were watching the girls during the day while they were on vacation from school On Thursday my mom had to make a quick trip to the grocery store so the girls stayed home with my dad While in the laundry room my father lost his balance and fell onto the ceramic floor and couldn’t get up The girls heard a bang and went running to find out what happened They saw my dad on the floor and went to his aid He didn’t want to call 911 so first they tried to help him up but couldn’t My dad had spilled his coffee cup so Kylie instructed Heather to get paper towels to clean the mess while she went to call my sister-in-law who lives across the street When no one answered the phone she ran over to the house in case they were in the yard When she couldn’t find anyone she went back to see what else she could do My dad was able to reposition himself and by shear strength get himself up off the floor Kylie remained calm and provided comfort for my dad even though this was a scary situation for her to witness She overcame her fear and did everything she could to help my dad I am extremely proud of her My dad’s injuries included two fractured fingers and a fractured knee cap He is also very proud of his granddaughter and how she came to his aid
