I have twin girls who are 6 years old Recently we worked on a project for their blue belt advancement called Generosity When asked what my children were grateful for they spoke of toys and candy This prompted a discussion about things they should be grateful for like shelter and food I explained how there were families in our community who didn t have as much as we have and some who find it difficult to buy food We decided to purchase some non-perishable food items and donated them to our local fire department for the annual food drive It was a great lesson for my kids to learn I am really glad we were given this project to work on and the opportunity to have this type of discussion with them
