Since joining the Leadership Program IMAX Alan has begun focusing more on the needs of others then his own He actively sought leading the publicity team for the blood drive and when posting notices at local stores he approached the Managers for permission rather than a Parent When vacationing this Summer we stayed with people whose daughter has Asperger s Syndrome She is somewhat shy and has a hard time connecting with people Alan sought to find a way to connect with her at a level she was confortable with Within a day they were spending hours together playing They invented a card game together and when we went to the Baltimore Aquarium she was comfortable enough to come along In the past she didn t want to go somewhere without one of her parents By the time we left they had binded to the point that she was able to give him a hug goodbye something that took her a long time to do even with her Aunt I feel that in nine months Alan has matured and grown immensely thanks to IMAX He is more dedicated to his family his responsibilities and his Karate I am very proud of him
